    3. Pattie, Here are the Madison County Cemeteries, I don't have a breakdown as to which city they are close to. You will note that there are some duplicates since several cities and religious communities use the same names for cemeteries. I have this information with world coordinates which is from the GNIS site. I am sure there are other cemeteries/burial grounds and single grave burials on farms, since this listing has been found lacking in other counties as well. 1. Whaling
    2. Wesley R. Harden, III, MD
    3. Hello, I am new to this mailing list. I am researching the last name Whaling. My great-grandmother's maiden name was Whaling. Her grandmother was Elizabeth Stallings (1831-1899) who married William M. Whaling. I am able to trace the Stallings line back to the 1600's but that is earliest Whaling I can find. They lived in Edwardsville during the mid to late 1800s. The only other information I can find on William Whaling is that he was in Company G of the 49th Illinois Infantry during the Civil War. If anyone has any information regarding William Whaling, or any other Whaling, I would appreciate it! Thank you, Stacy Harden, Hanover PA

    3. I am looking for the death date of George Newton BELL who appears in the 1880 census of Collinsville living on Walley St. The county clerk finds no death record between 1880 and 1890, but he probably passed away before 1900. Thanks, Pat B.

    1. Re: Surnames Elwick/Faitz and Wettstein too
    2. Actually Elwick is shortened for Helwick. Elwick is my Grandmother Grace's maiden name. And she married Edwin Faitz. Elwick's and Faitz's came from Germany back between 1840 and 1850 to Madison County. They settled in the Black Jack Farming Community right next to Collinsville. My Father was born in Collinsville in 1928. His grandparents raised him. Their names are John and Nancy Elwick. Mary from IN
