    3. I have forwarded this message, please contact "harmon orsborn" <kolh@hotmail.com> if you can help! Thanks! -------- Original Message -------- Subject: Swiss Date: Wed, 05 May 1999 01:38:23 PDT From: "harmon orsborn" <kolh@hotmail.com> In reading about Swiss immigrates on the Swiz. section of World Gen it mentioned several localities in US that they tended to settle. Among them was Highland IL. In a family history that I have it mentions that my gt grandmother 1st settled in Highland IL, later moved on to KS to get married. Is there anyone in the Madison Co. Gen. Soc. or the Historical Soc. who has made a study of the Swiss-Am immigrates in Highland. My problem is that I feel her name was angilicized by the authors of the history written some 50 yrs after passing, thus creating problems in tracing her to Swiz. Thank you. 1. MADISON COUNTY< GREEN, SUMMERS, TRAMMELL....
    2. Looking for any additional information on the Harvey Summers family of Upper Alton, 1850, also looking for additional information on the William Green family of Madison county some sons were Alexander, Lewis, and Elijah. His wife's name was Mary Trammell. We are searching for a burial place for William and his wife. We have received many replies that they are buried in a particular cemetary but the William Green and Mary Green that we have received are not the same. William Green's father was Benjamin Franklin Green who came to MO in the early 1800's. They are of Cherokee Descent. We also believe that the Trammel line had Cherokee as well as we have found one of our anscestors who had claimed full-blood in a Cherokee application. Any additional information would be greatly appreciated. 1. Searching for Relatives named Day
    2. Janet M. Giessman
    3. When I was an adolesent I visited relatives in Collinsville named Glenn and Nova Day. Their son Loren was just a year or so from my age, and a daughter was younger. Glenn was employed there in town, but I am not sure where, however I remember he was very involved with the National Guard in Collinsville. Loren later went to High School there and played the saxophone in a little band and possibly in the school band. Glenn was the son of my Aunt Alma Deichler Day and her husband Thomas Day of Illinois. They were among the my many relatives located in Jersey and Madison Counties, Illinois. I would desperately like to find where Loren is located now and establish our friendship again. I feel he would be in the 66 to 68 yr old range of age. Can anyone help me learn more about the family? Thanks for reading this Janet from Georgia E-mail jmgiess@gate.net

    1. Czech community in Collinsville? ZID family?
    2. Barbara Terhune
    3. Hi, Sooo much correspondence coming through - but little to none associated with the Czech community in Collinsville. Do I have the right county???? Searching (desperately) for information about the Czech ancestry of : William Zid and his wife, Barbara Krivan/Kriven. They came to America and settled in Collinsville around 1904-5. They were members of a "Lodge" (presumably a Czech social organization). William may have owned a tavern before Prohibition. I think they were Catholic and they had 4 children: William Zid Jr., (lived and died in Collinsville) Rose Zid, who married Arthur Capstick, (lived and died in Collinsville) Frank Emil Zid, who moved to Chicago and Jennie who (1929) married Pete Francis. (my parents) Does *anyone* know *anything* about this family??? Here's hoping, Barb Terhune bat@bitstorm.net
