    3. Hi Sharon, Just arrived home from enjoying my grandson's birthday party in Santa Rosa. I think Collinsville is in Madison County. I do not know where my grandfather, Franklin met Lourina SELPH. Her parents or family could have been in Madison County, IL because of them getting married in Alton. I was hoping I could find some SELPHs in the 1870 census of Madison Co. but the 1870 census could not be read. I even ordered two of them. Don't know if I told you that on Lourina death certificate in MO they have her name wrong. They have Sourina not Lourina and did not list her parents or husband. Take your time but hope you find some of her family. Thanks, Evelyn

    2. Hi Evelyn, The Madison County History ladies :-) are working on the 1870 census right now. I was talking to one of them and she told me that she had a real good copy to work from! How long it will take them, I don't know! I do know that at the St. Louis library in downtown St. Louis, they have the 1870 Census in book form already! I don't get over there very much! I will try to find all of the information that I can, though. Yes, I did find out that Collinsville is in Madison County! I just never go up that far, so therefore, I wasn't sure. Sharon

    3. The IRAD has wills and probate records for Madison County for that time period. You might also check the Alton Telegraph newspaper to see if there were any article(s) when your ancestors died that may mention what happened with the children. ----Original Message Follows---- From: Tim Hoehn/Boydston <bacchus1@hotmail.com> Reply-To: ILMADISO-L@rootsweb.com To: ILMADISO-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: Missing Children in 1873 Date: Fri, 04 Jun 1999 09:57:36 AKDT Melissa, That is a help.I never heard of IRAD. 1. Re: Madison County - Gray - circa 1927
    2. Linda, I noticed your last name and wanted to tell you I am a Lambert descendant. My mother's maiden name was Lambert and I have quite a bit of information on the Lamberts from southern Indiana. Ironically, I used to live about 200 yards from a Lambert Cemetery where a lot of my relatives are buried and I did not know it. Now, I live 600 miles away. Let me know if there might be a connection.
