could anyone help me with a look up in Madison County 1880 census. I have recorded J. Borchwardt, 36 years old, born Preus. BUT now I can not find my hand notes nor any other confirmatin of those data. He lived in Venice at one time, and also (maybe the same) in Namioki Township. If some one has access to the 1880 census could you confirm or deny my information. Many thanx. ================================ Don Dickason Searching for family names: Dickason, Hamilton, Cadwal(l)ader, Wisely, Steinberg, Borchward(t), Biesterfeld(t), Blair

The Port of Bremerhaven was constructed by Bremen to handle larger ships. My greatgrandfather's ship's passenger list show both names for port of origination. Frank

IRAD is one of the most awesome resources I've seen, when it comes to obtaining copies of original doc's. A lot of their records are indexed on-line (a lot more are not, though, at least not yet.) Here is their URL: http://cyberdriveillinois.com/departments/archives/databases.html There are also pages telling how to contact them for copies of this-n-that. They will do look-ups for free, and only charge 25 cents / page for stuff they do find. Details available on-site. Happy hunting!! It's something like Illinois Regional Archival Depository. What it amounts to is several locations throughout the state of Illinois where records (or copies) are held and available to the public. Can anyone help me? My ancestor, Andrew Russell died 8 Jan 1835, in Madison Co., IL. There is mention on an LDS film of his death and the guardianship of a Mary A. Russell. The only other information was that the Guardianship record was in the Vol. for 1832 to 1837. I was able to get his probate records from IRAD which contained very little of genealogical use, since there was no widow or mention of children. I want to get that guardianship record. I need to know an online source or a snail mail address to get it or whether or not I need to hire someone to go to the courthouse to find and copy it for me. Tom --
Hello, How do you contact the Alton Cemetery manager? Do you know his/her name? Do you know the address? I have family buried there I'd like to get information on. Lisa
