Hello! I, and my sister, have been researching ancestors in the Macoupin County area for quite some time. I have found a lot of info, photos, etc but would like to "flesh out" some of the info I have. I am looking for descendants to correspond with and exchange info and photos. I will not go into a lot of detail so as not to confuse! I am anxious to find relatives of the below lines/people: David Harvey Post b. 1795 NJ, d. 1856 IL married Hannah Morton/Norton/Marten? b. 1800 VT - died aft 1885 either in OK or KS (I have little info on these 2 - any help is appreciated!). Their son Jacob Andrew Post b. 1839 VT, d. 1887 IL married Alice Jane Burch. Their son Herbert Andrew Post b. 1879 IL, d. 1961 IL married Minnie Izora Harris. Their daughter Alma Larretta Post (my grandmother) b. 1901 IL, d. 1969 MO married Herman Edgar Hayes. Henry Burch b. 1804 NY, d. 1889 IL married Caroline M. Barber b. 1806 NY, d. 1879 IL. They had daughter Alice Jane Burch b. 1847 IL, d. 1928 IL. I do not know who Henry's parents were - and assist is appreciated. Caroline Barber's parents were Joel H. Barber, b. 1779 CT, d. 1860 IL and he married Permelia Adams b. 1786 NY, d. 1859 IL (nothing further is known about Permelia). Rev. William C. Harris b. 1811 TN, d. 1861 IL married Sarah C. Kirkman, b. 1806 KY, d. 1847 IL. George Russell Harris b. 1834 IL, d. 1917 IL married Mary Ann Goins/Gowin b. 1830 KY, d. 1915 IL. They had son Charles Lysander Harris b. 1850 IL, d. 1904 IL married Luverba Mae Leak b. 1855 IL, d. 1937 IL (dtr of George Leak and Marietta Shroyer). They had daughter Minnie Izora Harris b. 1884 IL, d. 1914 MO. Charles Lysander was married a second time to Mary Elizabeth Swift Adcock and they had a daughter, Susan E. Harris b. 1893 IL, d. 1986 IL. Mary Ann Goins/Gowin mother, Charlotte of KY, whose maiden name could have been Bingham/Bingman, was the second wife of William C. Harris. Mary Ann's father could have been an Isaac Goins - no further info. George Russell and Mary Ann were step-brother/sister. They were living with parents William and Charlotte in 1850. Eli Hayes b. 1836 OH, d. 1945 IL married Sarah D. Sanborn b. 1838 NH, d. 1890 TN. They had son Thomas Elzia Hayes b. 1862 OH, d. 1945 IL. He married Florence Sharp aka Laura Florence Tow b. 1875 TN, d. 1958 IL. They had son Herman Edgar Hayes (my grandfather) b. 1895 TN, d. 1973 MO. I am especially interested in making contact with any descendants of Charles Lysander Harris for photo exchange. His children: Leslie Lamon/Lamond Harris Millie May Harris (married James Thomas Brown) Ada Luella "Ella" Harris (married Simon Hnery Sutphin) Livett Maud Harris (married Earl D. Arnold) Minnie Izora Harris Linna Lilla "Linnie" Harris (married Perry Edwin Hill) E. Media Harris died young. Susan E. Harris (married a William R. Bacon) I have photos of the Harris children and Luverba - none of Charles. Also photos of some of Aunt Ella Harris Sutphin's kids. I also have a photo of Susan E.
