I received the below e-mail from another list. If anyone on the Macoupin List has problems with obtaining SSN information - please e-mail me off list. I have access to both Ancestry and Footnote and will look up the information for you. Is this something new?>> Several people emailed offlist that they had not experienced this. A check of all the 2009 deaths in a little town where we used to live - 1/4 of the 2009 listings with only last name visible through the _ancestry.com_ (http://ancestry.com/) SSDI. My brother, who died in Sept. but in a different area, was fully listed in Nov., now shows only by last name on ancestry.com. _Footnote.com_ (http://footnote.com/) had the full names for the same searches, but only the last 4 digits of the SSN. If these are trends with the two companies, we may have to search multiple SSDI online. Perhaps footnote.com to get the full name, then ancestry.com for the full SSN if we need to order SS-5s, etc. Dee
