The list of current veterans is a huge undertaking. I don't know what percentage of this list are veterans but I know a few right off. Kathie and myself served in the Navy, no war, but in the Vietnam era. What I do do for current veterans is just to go up to a service person in uniform and thank them. I am visiting NY City and the fleet came in today so I had the chance to thank several military personnel. Makes me proud to see the service personnel. And, Wayne, don't feel bad about not being able to cover all current veterans. It is just a huge undertaking. So, if you construct a list of military personnel from your area or any area in Macoupin I would make an early cutoff date, like 1920. We as veterans have several lists where we enter our names such as places where we served. I am guilty of getting away from doing a Vets page on Veterans Day but when I did one, there were many Macoupin people, dead and alive, on it. I will try to remember to revive the page on Veterans Day if someone will help remind me. There are many Macoupin vets on that list. So, Wayne, I wouldn't quit on it. You have a good idea. You just need to limit the years, I think. Start the page and put a note on it for any veteran someone knows of having served during certain years from a certain place, to contact you and you can add them. Let it set; don't fret over it and over a few yrs, you will have quite a list. Just my opinion.
