    3. Wayne You have to draw the line somewhere.  If you start adding the more recent overseas engagements, then you'd have to include those who were only assigned to stateside military bases.  If you'll talking about making a list of individuals who served in the military (war and/or peace), then I say you should only put the names on the "military memory lists" of those who have passed away.  As long as they are living don't mention them.  Along the way, someone will be missed causing feelings to be hurt and I know it will not be intended to do such.  I would only include the following - 1) those who graduated from the Gillespie High School or a high school no longer in existence (such as Benld HS) in the Gillespie School District area regardless of burial location 2) those who moved into the Gillespie School District later in life being residents at the time of their deaths regardless of burial location 3) those who are buried in a cemetery in the Gillespie School District If you start including the entire county, then someone will be missed and the next thing you'll hear is an unkind word by someone.  Perhaps those who live outside the Gillespie School District can be given to Gloria for the Macoupin Co website. Is there an interest and who has the data? Isn't there something else besides these, maybe Croatia or ?.  ? Persian Gulf War "Desert Storm" / "Desert Shield" War in Afganistan "War on Terrorism" War in Iraq "Operation Iraqi Freedom" I am willing to add these, along with the Vietnam and Korean War veterans pages. Although I have been trying to concentrate on the Gillespie area, if adding the recent veterans, I will be willimg to include all of Macoupin County. 3. Thanks Debbi for the input. The lack of response has shown that there is not any interest. Without an interest, there is no reason to do anything. It isn't surprising though, judging by the very low attendance at the Veteran's Day and Memorial Day ceremonies. 9-11 should have been a wake-up call. Respect for the military personnel that have served our country real well in the past are being shown a lack of respect in the modern day world. My little part in trying to honor all veterans is not appreciated by many, so I suppose it is best to stop putting anything on-line at this point in time. It may be time for me to hang it up.
