    3. Today at the Macoupin Co. Courthouse I looked for any deed to the Virden Church of the Brethren, incorporated in 1912, which apparently no one has ever had. I looked under "B" for Brethren and Baptist, "C" for Church, "V" for Virden, and thought about "G" for German Baptist Church. I noted several deeds between David C. Vaniman and Trustees of the Church of the Brethren and Trustees of the German Baptist Church for other lands. Surely, I thought, such deeds would not be listed under "T" for Trustees! Wrong!!! I found not only the deeds for the Virden Brethren church property in Grantee Book 21, but noted many others for Trustees of Hettick Church, I.O.O.F., Stults Burying Ground (Palmyra), churches in Carlinville, Modesto, and elsewhere, school districts, banks, companies, and many other entities. Thus, at least in this 1900-1920 period, it might be wise to look under "T" for trustees of those groups. Linda Kmiecik
