Just received this request for information. Can anyone be of assistance? Jarid Ott-Corresponding Secretary Macoupin County Genealogical Society 618.635.3150 (Home) 618.779.6261 (Cell) -------Original Message------- From: sharonmcgill@juno.com Date: 1/8/2010 4:29:00 PM To: jott@madisontelco.com Subject: Macoupin Co. genealogy Jared, the Macoupin Co. Library gave me your email, and said you are the man who took care of questions. So here we go! I want to confirm where Alexander Thompson is buried. He died 1905 in Macoupin Co. and is supposed to be buried in Palmyra in either Old Union Cemetery or Oak Hill Cemetery. His wife, Elizabeth Crum, died 1882 and is buried in Old Union Cem. It is noted on findagrave.com that the inscription on her gravestone is "wife of Alexander." I've not seen a picture of her gravestone so I don't know if the inscription is correct. Do you have any information as to where Alexander is buried or should I contact the Co. Clerk for a death certificate and hope it shows where he is buried? If you have other ideas, I would appreciate them. Thank you! Sharon McGill (PS I am a member of the MCGS!)
