You may want to check out the Beta FamilySearch WEB site (it is Free) - _http://fsbeta.familysearch.org/s/_ (http://fsbeta.familysearch.org/s/) You enter a name - and with luck - they will have your ancestors census record. Remember this is a BETA release. You can follow the FamilySearch Blog at - _http://labs.familysearch.org/blog/_ (http://labs.familysearch.org/blog/) Happy Hunting, Kathie Mirabella Macoupin County, IL Mail List Manager http://www.macoupinctygenealogy.org/
Is this a membership site or should I say, will it be a paid site if not now? I tend to balk at paid sites because if I can spend hours and hours putting out free data, I think people with money ought to be able to do the same. Most of the trial sites I find become paid sites. Going back to my corner. Hope that will be my gripe for the year.<g> Gloria At 08:07 AM 1/6/2010, you wrote: >You may want to check out the Beta FamilySearch WEB site (it is Free) - >_http://fsbeta.familysearch.org/s/_ >(http://fsbeta.familysearch.org/s/) You >enter a name - and with luck - they will have your ancestors census record. > Remember this is a BETA release. > >You can follow the FamilySearch Blog at - >_http://labs.familysearch.org/blog/_ (http://labs.familysearch.org/blog/) > > >Happy Hunting, > >Kathie Mirabella >Macoupin County, IL Mail List Manager >http://www.macoupinctygenealogy.org/ > >Check out Macoupin County ILGenWeb page at >http://www.macoupinctygenealogy.org/. >------------------------------- >To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to >ILMACOUP-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the >quotes in the subject and the body of the message
Gloria, This is a FREE site, at least currently. It is my understanding that it is part of the LDS Family Search. If you have any ancestors who died in North Carolina, this site links to an actual copy of the death certificate ... FREE. I just found one of my Cook Co. ancestors who I did not know died in NC [he was there for medical treatment and returned to Harvey, IL for burial]. It also links to actual copies of the census records. One think I really like is it shows the entire family so it is easier to find Fred & Bertha with children Frank and Sally. It is a great site and is being added to, all the time. Sharon On 6 Jan 2010 at 11:00, G Frazier wrote: Is this a membership site or should I say, will it be a paid site if not now?
