    1. [ILMACOUP] A Virden photographer
    2. Does anyone know the dates when "G.W. Dillon's New Gallery, N. W. Cor.(ner) of Square, Virden, Ill." was in operation? Is there any information available on the Virden photographer? I have three original photographs and am trying to find an approximate date. One is of Nancy (Tosh) Ditson who died Jan. 17, 1882; another is that of Mary Ann (Martin) Tosh who died July 18, 1890. These two have the information as above printed on the back of the photograph. A third photo appears to be of the same card stock and size as the other two, but does not have the identifying markings of the photographer. The third photo is that of William Riley Tosh who died during the Civil War, 1863 in Natchez, Mississippi and he is dressed in his uniform. This photograph is a bit smaller than the two of the ladies but the card stock is the same size. All three are mounted on card stock and appear to be the same type with a single line border around the outer edge whereby a photo would be affixed to the card stock. Nancy (Tosh) Ditson was sister to William Riley Tosh. Mary Ann (Martin) Tosh was William Riley Tosh's wife. Thanks, Linda R.F.
