I know he was born in Viden, Macoupin County, Illinois in January 1888. He might have had an older brother named Edgar who was also born in Virden around 1885. It is believed that his parents died when he was very young and he and his brother were left orphans. He ran away to Jasper County when he was only 12 and I found him listed on the 1910 Census as a hired hand in the <http://search.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/sse.dll?db=1910USCenIndex&indiv=try&h=5407373>George W Lewis (can only view as a member of Ancestry) house hold. If your Andrews reseach might help me, I very much would like to ask if you would be willing to share it.
