I also show him married to his 4th wife Martha A. or E. "Ellen" (Walden) Reid/Read (born c. 1836, Kentucky, whose first husband left her, marriage not found) on 10 July 1877 at Union Chapel Church in Macoupin Co. The statewide marriage index shows 3 marriages for Austin, but none to an Elizabeth: NEVINS, AUSTIN L STEEL, MARGARET 1835-01-13 1/ 159 MACOUPIN NEVINS, AUSTIN S CASE, MARTHA A 1873-01-09 05 /89 7683 MACOUPIN NEVINS, AUSTIN S READ, MARTHA ELLEN (MRS) 1877-07-10 05 /125 9094 MACOUPIN Both the 2nd wife Elizabeth ----- Nevins and the 3rd wife Martha A. (Case) Nevins are buried at Oak Grove Cemetery. Tombstone Revelations, p. 404, Girard Cemetery shows that Martha E. (2 listings, h/W. T. & w/WilliamT.) McDaniel is buried with her presumed 3rd husband William T. McDaniel. One listing gives her age as 74 years with a death date of 03-01-1910. The other gives her birth date as 02/02/1836 and her death date as 03-01-1910. William's birth date is given as 09-29-1837 and there is no death date. Martha A. or E. "Ellen" is the first child of Elijah Walden (11 July 1812 KY - 1 June 1887 Macoupin Co., IL) and Mary Ann Drury (16 May 1810 Ontario Co., NY - 2 or 7 Aug 1892/1897 Macoupin Co., IL), followed by George H. born 1840 KY, James Isaac born about 1844 KY, and John W. born 1848 KY. This family came to rural Girard around 1858 and from them come most of the Waldens in the Girard & North & South Otter areas. Many of the Waldens are buried at Union Chapel Cemetery, North Otter Twp. Does anyone have further info on these people? I connect to them through Mary Ann (Drury) Walden.
