There is a series of books titles: Coal in Illinois and sometimes it was called Illinois Coal Report. It includes injuries and deaths in mines in Illinois for the some time in the 1800s into the 1900s. I found a missing family member in the 1898 report. These books were at one time in Lovejoy Library, Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. They also were on microfiche. I know this because I cataloged the collection and was so glad to know of its existence. I would think that the Illinois State Library would have copies or the archives. The information in them includes a bit of family history - spouse, children, details of the accident. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Rick" <hmdoty@madisontelco.com> To: <ilmacoup@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, October 16, 2009 12:23 PM Subject: Re: [ILMACOUP] Deaths in mines > Search the name in google books > http://books.google.com/bkshp?hl=en&tab=wp you might get a "hit" from > the "Annual Coal Report" > Rick > > > At 09:21 AM 10/16/2009, you wrote: > >This is wonderful!
