I love helping researchers if I can but slowing down. Have a bit of eye strain but enjoy it. I did the 1845 by myself after Linda recd permission. Marita typed the patentee pages. I used my digital camera and took pics of all of the book pages. You can enlargen the pages to read them. Had a lot of volunteer help on the 1840 tax book. It was done in 2000, I scanned the pages and volunteers typed the index. Linda R. F. Arnold, Loretta Beeuwsaert, Carolynn Bettis, Patti Breaux, Gloria Frazier, Carolyn Gibbons, Marlene Johnson, Linda Kmiecik, Sue McMurry, Mary Mayo, Pam Ripplinger, Melissa Robards, Yvonne Stedman, Elizabeth Lentz Wood(deceased) If I can just get those 1840 land description pages up.......someday According to the 1840 tax book, as I see, Benj didn't own land in Macoupin, maybe? Deed indexes would say for sure. See him in the 1845. Thanks for your kind comment. Gloria At 10:40 PM 8/12/2009, you wrote: >Gloria, >Thanks much - it's great to have those tax records available.
