I don't think I am going to be of much help. Maybe if you can find them on census records for that period of time, they might give info on their naturalization. "If" (many are not available, I think - might call and see if and what are available and what the cost is for a search) they are available in Macoupin County, they would be in the probate records office and the address is: Circuit Clerk Macoupin County Courthouse Carlinville IL 62626 Phone: 217/854-3211 ********** Think you probably need a "close" date for immigration but you might try Polly Paskos' route - (Kansas City would include a region and not just St Louis): Quoting her: From: James Piskos <jpiskos@hsnp.com> Subject: [StLouis-MO-L] Naturalization papers To: StLouis-MO-L@rootsweb.com My thanks to the kind person who sent me info re obtaining naturalization papers. I tried that address and was told for naturalization obtained in St. Louis in the time period I needed it (abt 1945) I should go to : National Archives and Records Admin. 2312 E. Bannister Kansas City, MNO 64131 (Contact Ms. Mary Burtzloff.......1-816-926-6920) Cost is $10 payable to National Archives Trust Fund.....Ask for Declaration of Intent, also; sometimes you will get names of parents, arrival date, arrival port, etc.) When I called Ms. Burtzloff, she returned my call in one day to report she had found it-----quick response! Polly Piskos ************ St Louis Public Library has a complete set of microfilm of Passenger and Immigration lists. The naturalization information page at the Macoupin County site: http://www.rootsweb.com/~ilmacoup/m_natdex.htm (quite a few links on this page) Naturalization papers in the counties weren't a priority so I suspect many were probably destroyed or are rotting somewhere. Might want to try this route: Passenger and Immigration Lists Index, 1538-1940, CD 354 The information that can be found on CD354 is listed here. http://www.rader.org/cd354.htm There are some lookup volunteers for CD 354 at this site (free). Let the site come all the way up because if you don't you just get the first half of the site. The second half have the volunteers for other CDs besides the World Family Trees http://www.seidata.com/~lhoffman/cdlist.html If you find them on CD 354 or other CD, go here for an address for the INS. Write to see if you can get their records. http://www.italgen.com/immigrat.htm Another idea: LDS Film Catalog - search here: http://www.familysearch.org/Search/searchcatalog.asp or Search LDS data: http://www.familysearch.org/
