Information from Cindy Leonard gf -------------------- Date: Thu, 03 Jun 1999 18:36:44 -0500 Subject: Illinois Route 66 Tour From: "Cindy Leonard" <cindyldq@midwest.net> This year's motor tour will start in Berwyn on Saturday, morning, June 12 and travel south on the "Mother Road" thru Wilmington, Pontiac, Bloomington, McLean and Lincoln. At Lincoln, a "Hall of Fame" banquet will honor the 1999 "Hall of Fame" inductees. Sunday, June 13, the tour will leave Lincoln and travel through Broadwell, Springfield, Virden, Girard, Nilwood, Carlinville, Gillespie, Benld, Mt. Olive, Staunton, Hamel, Edwardsville, and end in Collinsville. Collinsville will host the Route 66 post tour festivities to be focused around the 50th anniversary of the Brooks Catsup bottle. Some other municipalities will be sponsoring local celebrations during the tour. More than 300 vehicles commonly make the tour each year. Vehicles old or new are invited to be a part of the tour festivities.
