Fellow Macoupin Co researchers, Here is an ignorant question that must surely be answered somewhere...but I can't find it: Along with the record of marriage found in the county marriage record books, which consists of one line per marriage, is there also a marriage license or application for license which could be found somewhere? If so, does this contain more information? My gg grandparents, Robert Watt and Mary Hines were married in Macoupin Co in 1862. The IL marriage index gives a reference of vol 5, pg 3 of the marriage record book which I have seen. But it also gives a license number of 4063. Should that give me hope that poor Mary's parents might be written somewhere, or is that just a further reference to the marriage record book? Thanks. Mark Strohbeck strohbmw@wt.net
