Could someone please tell me who would have the voting registrations records in Macoupin County for someone who lived in Virden. This is the second time I've ask this question, and so far no response. Someone must know. I am trying to find where in Ireland my ancestor, Edward SCANLON came from. I've gotten many records, but they only say from IRELAND. The way I look at it, most new American's would have wanted to vote, and if they wanted to vote, then there must be a voters registrations. Edward was a naturalized citizen (in Scranton P.A. circa 1874) arrived in Virden late 1870's, worked as a coal miner, as did all his sons.
