I've have finally settled on Family Origins by Parsons Tech. Its a very good program, easy to use (especially if your not into reading manuals), has a place for your references now and the upgrades are very reasonable. You can take a look at: http://www.parsonstech.com/ then click on the site index and select genealogy.
