There were 14 of us working together to clear the undergrowth and trees from the site. We had beautiful weather for it, though we weren't able to do any burning. Initially, my husband had to hack a path into the cemetery with a corn knife so we could get in to work, but the cemetery is now cleared and accessible. We are very happy with the results and plan to go back in the spring if the weather cooperates to do more work. My gggg-grandfather Moses Ruyle and his wife are buried here. Their stones are still standing. Their son, my ggg-grandfather, Littleton Ruyle is supposed to be buried here, as well, but we could not find his stone. In the spring we plan to take metal rods to probe the ground to check for stones that may have fallen and are now hidden. It was a very satisfying project! ~~Rhonda Ashby Coulter
