Hello listmembers, My parents and I have long planned a "genealogy weekend" that, although mainly in Madison County (Prairietown), also included Staunton in your fair Macoupin. We began Saturday morning at the wonderful Edwardsville Library's Genealogy Room, had lunch, and continued to Prairietown's St. Peter's Lutheran Church Cemetery where mt 3G grandfather Conrad WEISHAUPT and his descendants are resting (He sold the ground to the church that he also helped to form). After that, we went to Staunton and visited St. Michael's Cemetery where 3G grandfather Bernard (Ben) ACKERMANN and some of his kin are buried. "Grandpa Ben" built several of the brick buildings in town there. His youngest daughter only recently passed on at the age of 99. Having had a *most* enjoyable day, we were returning to my home in Godfrey when, just south of town, we were struck head-on by a *very* intoxicated driver. Although we all sustained considerable injury, we still have our lives. I like to think that my ancestors were looking out for us. Remember, it can happen to you - not just to "someone else"! Always wear your seat belt and insist that your passengers do the same. I'm sure you all want to live long enough to "complete" <grin> your family histories. Mike Bozovich
