    2. There has been talk about the accuracy of the LDS files that have been made available on the INTERNET recently. Just remember ALL documents, databases and books have mistakes. But, these are great places to begin your search. Documents also have mistakes. My own birth certificate is a perfect example. My mother's maiden name is incorrect on my birth certificate. It list Sheldon her stepfather's name. Her maiden name is Hamley. I now have a two page birth certificate - first page is the original with Sheldon and second contains the corrections - Hamley. If someone should find only the first page they would have the wrong information. My baptism and marriage certificate are correct. My sister's birth certificate is correct. When I was about 20 my grandmother had my California birth certificate corrected - this is why it is now two pages. My grandmother who did this was my father's mother - no one else cared about having it corrected. So unless you have DNA proof - question ALL documents, books and databases. You should verify all of your direct ancestors. Happy Hunting, Kathie Mirabella
