Most come in eight basic colors, one for each grandparent. (red, yellow, blue, green, orange, purple, brown, black) I have several people with the same last name in different branches of the family and this is how I keep all the Johnsons straight. I use the same colors in the file cabinet and on my Family Group Sheets and in the photo albums I stick a colored dot on the page. I color code the Family tree report also with a dot and use this as a map for researching. My mother gets two dots and I get four dots. I keep a package of slim markers in my purse when I go to the library and mark each thing I research and it is already to file and post to UFT when I get home. Hope this helps a little Joy in Wisc
