So that anyone who can can help me here..... I didn't know that the Original 1860 Macoupin Census goes over about 630 pages. The page numbers you give are 742-43 for the first two families. Just wanted to make sure before I keep looking. In any case, I ask that you perhaps review the information I have and advise if I missed it or it was omitted. The following information was taken from a microfilm copy of the 1860 Macoupin County census several years ago: The federal census record July 12, 1860, between the creeks (Apple Creek and Macoupin) for Macoupin County, Illinois, shows the following: pg 742-743 866/866 age sex trade born Silas Carrico 43 M Farmer Ohio Catherine 39 F Ohio Samuel Carrico 19 M Clerk Illinois Laura 15 F Illinois Harriet 8 F Illinois Lucy C. 5 F Illinois Aaron Davis 25 M Farm Hand 867/867 age sex trade born John C. Carrico 81 M Farmer Maryland Elizabeth 81 F Virginia The federal census record taken June 30, 1860, for Macoupin County, Illinois, shows the following: Township 9 range 9 Chesterfield page 32 366-349 age sex trade born Sylvester Ransom 36 Ohio Sarah 27 NY Alexander Carrico 44 Ohio Mary J. Carrico 3 ILL It seemed strange that none of the persons were listed except Sylvester and Sarah Ransom. There are several CARICO families listed, but none of the CARRICO families could I find.
