I'm wondering if someone could help me understand procedure for the Illinois marriage index recently available on-line. I have found a couple of names therein which "might" be ones in my family, however without the date of marriage, I can't be certain. Is my next step to snail-mail the Clerk of the county involved and request further information? How am I to know the cost involved without further delay and further correspondence? (okay, so I'm in a hurry a century after the fact, and okay, so I'm spoiled with late 20th century e-mail) I would however, appreciate some advice as to how to properly proceed. TIA, Lorraine
