Hi Rooters, I am looking for any information available on Abner SISSON, born before 1775 in Virginia, died about 1822 in Jefferson County, Kentucky, near Louisville. Abner SISSON had at least two children, John SISSON and Jackson SISSON. JACKSON SISSON was born in Culpepper County, Virginia, Oct. I7th, 1817, went with his family to Jefferson County, Kentucky, about 1817, moved to Macoupin County, Illinois, about 1837. He was married February 1st, 1849, to Mrs. Nannie C. DORSEY, widow of Basil H. DORSEY. Her maiden name was Nannie C. PAYNE; she was born in Fayette county, Kentucky, two miles from Ashland, July 28th, 1824, and was the daughter of Sandford K. PAYNE. She first came to Illinois in 1844, when nineteen years old. Jackson and Nannie SISSON had six known children. Their names are as follows: Edward A. SISSON; Fannie C. SISSON, who married William ROBERTS; T. Abner SISSON, Monroe G. SISSON, John W. SISSON and Silas B. SISSON. This family surname is sometimes referred to as SISSOM. John D.
