Green Washington Farrar was born in TN to William Farrar and Elizabeth Brekeen Green Washington Farrar married Laura Sinclair on April 24, 1824 in Robertson Co., TN (no other information about the Sinclair name. Della Styles (she was married to Stull first) on Nov. 18, 1853 Carlinville, IL. George left Della & children for a younger woman...don't know where he went. Sarah Elizabeth Farrar b. Apr 23, 1857 in Carlinville to Mary Ann Mariah Sawyer Nancy J. Farrar, Nov. 9, 1834 James Newton Farrar b. & D. in 1840 Laura Ann Farrar, March 26, 1841, north of Mt. Olive, Macoupin Co., ILL Green Wesley Farrar, April 7, 1843 The son of George Washington and Della Styles was William Franklin Farrar b. sept 15, 1857 in Carlinville He married in Carlinville on March 13 1879 to Sophia Sarah Diesel. She was born in germany on Aug. 15 1855. Her father was Henry Diesel. The story is that Henry(no mention of mother) brought his family to Carlinville. He soon took the sons back to Germany, but left the two girls with a foster family. He never returned for them. My grandmother always told us that Henry had invented the Diesel engine, but his nephew had stole the idea and had patented it. I have the Farrar line pretty well proven back to William Farrar, b. 1594 in England. there is a lot of controversy about this line, but I have a cousin that has done a great deal of work on it...and her reasoning sounds good to me. I would like to know more about the Diesel family, either to prove or disprove the story.
