I am wondering if there are any Davis researchers on the List that might have information on a Theophilus Davis , b. 1831 KY. and was in Macoupin County around 1850 ? I have found him on the 1850 Census, at 19 yrs' old , enumerated with his mother Rebecca Davis b. 1800 KY. and with brothers , Benjamin and James , and sisters Zerilda and Mary. On the 1840 Macoupin Co. Census there is Benjamin Davis , with family that seems to fit in age . ( based on their ages on the 1850 Census ). Theophilus Davis was married in 1853 to Sarah Cummings and was married in 1863 to Rebecca Goodson. ( The daughter of Milton and Jane ( Falls ) Goodson .) There seems to be a connection between the Davis and Cummings families , in later Census records I have found Cummings children living in various Davis households. And after Theophilus Davis died ( approx. 1870 ) , Rebecca (Goodson) Davis married a Wesley Cummings. Would anyone have information pertaining to these famiies ? Jeff McDonald My Macoupin Co.
