I am researching the Carpenter, Peake, and Carr lines in Macoupin Co. Charles Carpenter was born in 1847 in Iowa. He and his wife Lottie Peake b. 1 Jan 1852 came to Gerard, Macoupin Co. Ill. in 1869. They lived their until after 1910 and then moved to Cle Elum, WA. Their son Frank b. 5 June 1871 in Macoupin Co. married Norah Carr, b. 22 Aug 1870, was daughter of Harmon and Margaret Carr.
