My Macoupin County relatives came from Tennessee, Kentucky and England... not to mention nearby counties like Morgan and Green in Illinois! The first record I have of them being in Illinois is around the time of the Civil War; where they stayed until my father left Modesto for Springfield, then Chicago, finally settling in Madison, Wisconsin. I have wound up in Cleveland Heights, Ohio, having come here in 1969 to take a job..... never thought I'd stay, but here I am! and happy for it!
