    1. [ILMACOUP-L] My gift to you and What I am doing.....
    2. Gloria Frazier
    3. Hi, My gift to you - a private lookup for pre 1900 IL marriages and pre 1881 Macoupin probate index. I must have a first name along with the surname. Contact me privately, please. Oh, be patient because I am doing the Christmas thing around this house. Since turning the Macoupin page over to Eric, I have been out putting some of MY OWN queries on county pages. I am helping a little around the state (ILGenWeb) with maillists, page evaluations, and a few counties with any help on their county page they would like for me to help. I have been sending Eric "To Do" msgs so he will keep Macoupin County in tip top shape. In other words, driving him crazy. Those flowers and dots are driving me crazy so Ima gonna send him some Christmas decorations. "Guys" just don't do much home decor stuff, well, at least, some don't.<g> Then, I have to say I can't thank him enough for having so much interest in our, his and mine at least, "home" county's genealogy thus keeping the Macoupin County ILGenWeb page updated. Basically, getting my senses back and having some fun with my own genealogy. In working with my Hays genealogy, Barb Hays Clayton is coordinating a Hays reunion to be held in Macoupin 3 Oct 1999. One hasn't been held for years so all of usuns Hays' are looking forward to that. And, there are a lot us Hays' family members. I am planning to "face" the 1860 Macoupin Census. After the Birth Index 1, Honor Roll, and 1850 census, I first said January for the 1860 but may extend that til Feb or Mar. In the meantime, Debi Faris has been typing pages of the 1860 and sending them to me. Thank you, Debi. When I "face" it and ask for typing help for Debi, I will make copies of Littleton's census pages because the book is too tedious to scan by holding the book on the scanner. We could have, after Debi had started Littleton's book, gotten a copy of the original and typed it but Littleton's can be typed and sorted back into original order with a little tweaking. Debi and I have played with that a little. Doug and I are enjoying our new granddaughter Olivia, 7 mos, when we trek the 100 miles. Our other granddaughter, Jessica, 9 yrs, is growing like a weed. We are trekking to Branson for a couple days this week to see some Christmas shows, Rockettes, Mickey Gilley, Boxcar and Bobby Vinton. Beautiful Christmas shows in Branson. Have never seen a bad show over there, yet. Doug is planning on retiring 30 Nov 1999, as of now, so not sure where we will be after that. These communications companies better get their satellites up for cellular and the internet because I want it to be as easy anywhere we go as it is here. I can, too, have my cake and eat it, too.<g> Well, at least, I am gonna try. As for Macoupin County genealogy researching, if you have posted your query to this list a few times and have recd no help, try and try again. Altogether, many of us probably have most of the Macoupin county resource books in our private collections. We can't hand it to you or even to ourselves on a silver platter altho many of us would like to do just that for you. If you give us something "solid" to go on, one or some of us will try to help you somehow get a start even if only that help might be leads. You got other dumb genealogy/computer questions, ask em. I am sure the rest of us have ask plenty of dumb questions.
