    1. [ILMACOUP-L] 1860 Census Typing Instructions - Typists Needed!!
    2. Gloria Frazier
    3. WE NEED YOU!! We are ready to roll with handing out copies of scanned pages of the 1860 Macoupin County IL Census to volunteer typists. To begin this project, we need at least 10 typists. If you have found the earliest Macoupin birth index, 1830, 1840, 1850 censuses, Civil War Rosters, Honor Burials, or any other data on the Macoupin County ILGenWeb site beneficial then I ask that you help us get the 1860 Macoupin County Census online. Mr Littleton Bradley has graciously given snail mail written permission to use his transcription and publication of the 1860 Macoupin Census, a very dedicated accomplishment. This is a huge census and will be a great free resource for online researchers. Debi Faris has typed well over 3000 entries already. Larry Clark is scanning the rest of the pages. I am receiving, setting up, and, in the past, argued with English teachers why I don't think periods are needed for abbrev/initials.<g> Debi, Larry, and I cannot do it by ourselves unless we intend for it to be done in some lengthy period of time. We have too many other irons in the fire but are willing to do our part as volunteers. So, in order to get it done in some kind of timely fashion, we certainly could use your help. ----------- GETTING STARTED REQUESTING SCANNED COPIES: Send an email message to Larry Clark <leclark@digizen.net> requesting scanned copies.
