Hi All! I am a new list member! I am looking for info on the family of Jesse B. EDWARDS, who is said to have died in Macoupin Co in 1869. Jesse's wife's name was Angeline. His children, who were living at home at the time, were twins William & Mary born 1850/51, and George Spencer EDWARDS b. 1853, all three born in Scioto County, Ohio. Jesse B. EDWARDS and family left Ohio around 1856 and moved to Iroquois County, IL, where they were on the 1860 US census. Jesse and two of his older sons served in the Civil War. Sometime after the war Jesse and his younger children moved to Macoupin County. His older, married children remained in Iroqouois County. By the 1880 census, George Spencer EDWARDS was back in Iroqouis County and married. But not Angeline or William and Mary. I want to locate Jesse's widow Angeline. Where was she in 1870? Where and when did she die? What happened to the twins William and Mary? Does anyone have an index to the 1870 US census for Macoupin Co.? Any info will be greatly appreciated!
