Paul, The proper word is plat. It refers to those maps that identify the location and owner of property in a certain area. Most plats would be available from the county recorder of deeds. I don't know what they cost in Macoupin County, but to get a plat of a certain area, you need to know pretty precisely where it is. They like to see Section, Township and Range. If you are only interested in the location of a particular section of land, not the owner, you can get maps from the U.S. Interior Department (they're called 7.5 minute Quadrangle Topographic maps. These maps cost $4.50 each, plus $3.00 shipping for each order (not each map). Go to this URL http://mapping.usgs.gov/esic/index.html and click on 7.5 minute map finder. You can locate maps by zip code, by town, etc. Hope this helps. Jack Cox Herschell Paul Burge wrote: > Hello Gloria; > I hope you can answer a question.
