You are right. Librarians won't usually do lookups like that for you. And, sometimes YOU JUST HAVE TO YELL A LITTLE LOUDER TO SEE IF SOME OF THOSE RESIDENTS WILL DO IT FOR YOU! SINCE THEY ARE BOTH BURIED IN GIRARD CEM, IT OUGHT TO BE EASY TO FIND THEIR OBITS IN THE GIRARD GAZETTE MICROFILM AT THE GIRARD LIBRARY. And, if noisey doesn't work, when I go I could do it but it might be weeks or months. I am 300 miles away. And, if nothing by that far down the road, try: Obituaries available on microfilm thru interlibrary loan or requesting a search from the IL State Historical Library IL Historical Library newspaper research policy - residents and non-residents http://www.state.il.us/hpa/lib/generes.htm#NEWSPAPER SEARCH POLICY Location, hours, address and phone number http://www.state.il.us/hpa/lib/generes.htm#LOCATION AND HOURS You can get the microfilm from the above thru interlibrary loan. If you have the ISHL do the lookup, it will cost you but they will do it for sure.
