Linda, The Shiloh Baptist church, located approximately 8 miles west of Carlinville on highway 108, was still active in the early 1960's. We lived "just down the road," and several times our parents had my brothers, sister and I walk to the church for Sunday service. As I recall, the congregation consisted of fewer than 10 people. Annie Bradshaw, I believe, was the name of the older woman who played the piano and preached. She lived in nearby Enos. The church and surrounding land was purchased by a man named Emil Ralston, who built a small house near the church and converted the church into his carpenter shop.
