Here is a short list of abbreviations used in cemetery inventories - SSW - same stone with or shares stone with D/O or DO - daughter of S/O or SO - son of (and sometimes spouse of) W/O or WO - wife of H/O or HO - husband of DS - double stone (usually for husband/wife but sometimes for unmarried siblings) MIL - military stone/marker If there are others, I am drawing a blank right now.
