Hallo, I am searching in the WWW for relatives named „Warschütz“ – an do not make progress online. Maybe someone can help me: According to “Ellis Island ON-LINE” the family (Johann – born 1887 –, Auguste – born 1889 – and Frieda – born 1915 – Warschuetz) immigrated to USA in 1923 (Johann) and 1924 (Auguste and Frieda). Although in 1923/1924 a sister of Johann Warschütz (named Josephine Churovich) lived in Carlinville, IL, i did not found there (or somewhere else in USA) any notice of Warschütz or Warschuetz (or Warschitz). Only the “Macomb County, Michigan, Naturalization Index” contains – but without declaration of a year – on page 763 (of 807) the name “Johann Warschuetz” with the notice “SECOND PAPER V38, P904” – certainly not to look at online. My questions: The naturalization-document V38, P904 indeed is named “Johann Warschuetz” but can it (and does it) include the whole family ?Was there on the occasion of naturalization the opportunity to change the family name ?Who has more information to the name W. (or tips for further searching) ? .
