I searched on the Wayne County site and didn't find a Gilead. http://www.rootsweb.com/~ilwayne/ Macoupin had a Gilead Baptist Church: http://www.rootsweb.com/~ilmacoup/cemetery/gileadbaptistchurch/index.htm Rick Doty, Rudy Morris and Jere Braden may have more to say on this since they have relatives in the cem. I don't see an old community of Gilead in Macoupin.
