Others can say this better than I can but will try to let the ones on the list who might not know of what happened to Cody. Cody Handlin of Carlinville was 15 years old. He was kind to everyone. He enjoyed his friends. And, would you believe he LOVED genealogy. He certainly did. He worked in the Carlinville library. He worked at the county archives searching for his ancestors family data. Many of us can still see the sweet young face of Cody working on genealogy or with his friends. There was a blast at his home in Carlinville this Wednesday morning. The blast leveled the house. His mother and his 9 yr old nephew were pronounced dead at the scene. Cody and his 27 yr old brother were taken to Memorial hospital in Springfield. Cody's extensive research gone. His brother as I understand is doing ok, not critical. Cody was burnt as much as said 80 to 90 % of his body. Cody was critical. Cody passed away yesterday, 3 Aug 2006. Such a waste. Such a reason not understood. If anyone has additions, memories or comments to make about Cody, they would be welcome. Something you say in memorian to Cody's life.
