Hi Wayne, Greetings out of the blue yonder from "Bonnie Scotland", I like your snaps of Gillespie, I noticed most Street's are named after Tree's, sounds like my kind of town. Having never been to the America's it's interesting to see places my kin have managed to get to, I'm talking about my Granny Maggie Hendry nee Gallagher's two brother's, Owen J Gallagher 1883-1949 and James A Gallagher 1886-1953, (Burial records from Holly Cross Cemetery courtesy of Jarid Ott) these two emigrated to the USA in 1909 and 1920 respectively. Ownie, his wife Delia 1888-1930, and Son James, born Gillespie 1915-1977, he was Baptised in S.S.Simon & Jude, I think there was a further son called Leonard, 1917-1936. Ownie lived in Chestnut Street according to the 1920 Census, he was Coalminer at the Superior Coal Co in Gillespie, and on the 1930 Census, they were living at 307 West Walnut Street, Ownie's brother James A, is living there with them. I had a great deal of help from Gloria Frazier concerning their Naturalisation Paper's, and another lady from N.J with the census returns, but I'm still trying to find out if there are any descendants of these two still living in Gillespie, I'd like to ask you if maybe you could add this email to your site, it may jog someone's memory, and hopefully find me a relative, I append my email address as follows: [email protected] Slainte!
