I am looking for the parents of Morgan White. Morgan, born in IL, was in Macoupin Co by 1853 where, at the age of 23, he married Mary Land, daughter of Fountain Land and Emily Ruyle. I have not been able to find any mention of his parents, or of any siblings. Any help would be appreciated. J.

I was able to find Morgan White age 20, Blacksmith, on the 1850 Census with the family of John Austin in Morgan County, Illinois. This is his marriage information: WHITE, MORGAN LAND, MARY 02/20/1853 MACOUPIN On the 1860 Census in the town of Lancaster, Cass County, Illinois Morgan White 25 Blacksmith born IL Mary White 28 born KY William M???ellus 6 born IL Elizabeth Land 14 born IL Souru A. White 4 born IL Mary B. White 2 born IL Unfortunately, the census information before 1850 did not show names of family members, but on the 1840 census in Morgan County IL I did find a James White with two sons age 10 to 15 and a Solomon White with one son 5 to 10 and two sons 10 to 15. That's about all I can come up with for now. I have copies of the census sheets mentioned. Contact me off list if you want them.
