    3. Just did a quick search on "The Google" and found this on url: http://www.ihsa.org/initiatives/hstoric/football_new.htm<http://www.ihsa.org/initiatives/hstoric/football_new.htm> As the decade of the 1920s unfolded, the sport of high school football continued to grow in popularity as many Illinois schools began their programs during that period. One state record which will probably never be broken was set during this time, in 1923, when Staunton piled up a 233-0 win over Gillespie, as George Oehler scored ten touchdowns. The lopsided win by the Bulldogs capped off their 10-0-0 season, during which they out-scored their opposition 494 points to 23. Don't know how official this is, but... Aloha, Mary Ann (Smallwood) Bolton Mililani, HI The score was Staunton 233; Gillespie 0. I didn't read the whole article. This information made the first edition of The Book of Lists. Honest, I'm looking for the article and will share it with everyone. Cindy > I think the webpage is incorrect. My father was on that team in Staunton and the Staunton team beat Gillespie by that amount which is the reverse of what the webpage stated. Sorry. Barbara & Gary Hoffstetter
