    3. To the best of my knowledge, the earliest available newspapers in Macoupin County are the Carlinville newspapers which are on microfilm from 1856. I think Bunker Hill is available from 1861. Of course there are most likely missing issues. You may want to check the Springfield papers because I have used them in the past for Macoupin County research. Also, I believe the Alton Telegraph goes back to 1836. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Marita Gladson" <maritag@earthlink.net> To: <ilmacoup@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, June 21, 2009 12:44 PM Subject: [ILMACOUP] News papers > Where might I find a newpaper for Macoupin County for the years 1836 > and 1841. > I am trying to find the obit for Mary Abigail Jefferson Hodges who > died 8 July 1836 in Macoupin County Ill > She married Seth T. 1. [ILMACOUP] Huskey's & Reagan's in Macoupin County, IL
    2. Please e-mail me at _kathiemir@aol.com_ (mailto:kathiemir@aol.com) There is a Huskey reunion in August in Sevier County, TN. I am giving presentation on Macoupin County, IL Huskey's. Are you willing to share pictures, stories or documents? Would you like to attend Reunion? My 4 th great grandparents are: James Huskey born 14 Feb 1795 Edgefield District, Edgefield County, SC and he died 15 Sep 1845 in Macoupin County, IL. James married Rhoda Reagan born 20 Mar 1796 Middle Creek Community, Sevier County, TN she died 10 Oct 1855 in Macoupin County, IL. Both James and Rhoda are buried in Hickory Grove - Joiner Cemetery, Bird Township, Macoupin County, IL. Following from: 'Smoky Mountain Clans', Donald B. Reagan, 1978, p 2a. 'The Book of Ragan/Reagan', Donald B. Reagan, 1993, p 425. Beverly G. Martin family group sheets, 1994. James Huskey came to Sevier County, Tennessee in 1805. He moved to Perry County, Alabama in the fall of 1816. He sold his farm and slaves (9 miles from Mobile Alabama) and came to Illinois, alone, in 1832 and then he returned to Alabama and brought his wife and 10 children back to Illinois with him by wagon train in March,1834. In the spring of 1834 he settled on Section 5 near the present residence of Thomas Joiner. He built his first brick house in the spring of 1835 opposite the Thomas Joiner House. In 1836 James built the Methodist church building on his property. The neighbors provided the pews. At one time there was a large membership at this church. Between the years 1834 and 1840 James Huskey purchased a total of 2,218.28 acres of land, 1,617.26 acres in Bird Township, Macoupin County, Illinois and 601.02 acres in South Palmyra Township, Macoupin County, Illinois mostly during the years 1834 and 1835. He purchased this land from the U. S. Government at the rate of $1.25 per acre. 3. I just don't have time to do it. The way it works is someone will send me a query. I reply. I get an immediate auto request that I am not in the address book and if I want to be added to their address book. YIKES! Put me in your address book before you send me a query, PLEASE! Anyway, that is the way I get them. Some kind of automated twig in their program that "they" have clicked on. gloria At 07:52 PM 6/15/2009, you wrote: >OK, I have to ask, > >Do you inform the person? 3. Re : OK, I have to ask, Do you inform the person? That is just it - No way to inform the person, After receiving an e-mail that aks questuions or makes other statements indicating that they wish a reply. The reply bounces in different manners, either *user will not accept *not known e-mail address *Automated message to go to "such and such" and request that you be added to their address book *and few other automatic reponses. This means that we have no way of informing them. Even though we may reply to their message, I guess that they may think that we won't reply. My origianl message was an attempt to reach those some of the individuals that use such programs and let them know why they are not getting replies. All I am asking is that if you use such a program, do what is necessary to be able to receive a reply that you expect to get. Wayne http://gillespieil.com/gillespie/

The fix should be live on the site in the US census's in a couple of weeks. And it will roll out to other data collections over a month or so. All things come to those who wait and are persistent! :-) Have a good weekend. Anne **************Shop Dell’s full line of Laptops now starting at $349!
