I have some information on my great Uncle Loren Fullington's Anderson line. E-mail me privately at _RMo9871662@aol.com_ (mailto:RMo9871662@aol.com) Regina In a message dated 6/4/2009 5:31:21 P.M. Mountain Daylight Time, macoupincounty@earthlink.net writes: My name is Edith Ann Anderson <edith.anderson42@yahoo.com> My father was John Harbird Anderson of University City, MO and Carlinville, IL (until he was 17). His sister is Helen Virginia ("Alice") Anderson Brock also of Carlinville. Their father was John K. Anderson b. 1877 to a Male Anderson and Virginia M. Ramey Anderson b. 1842 in Carlinville, IL. I have attached a census page from 1880 (I couldn't open the file.gf) that shows Mary Ramey Anderson as widowed head of household, along with her brother, Joseph and my 3 yo grandfather along with his 3 siblings. I have spent, and other relatives, too, several years trying to locate the husband of Virginia M. Ramey/father of my grandfather John K(imball) Anderson. Can you give me any help at all? Other relatives of mine in Carlinville on my father's (John Harbird Anderson) were Georgia and Betty Burroughs of 302 Minton, Charles Burroughs and other Burroughs, and many Cherrys. Reputedly our uncle George Cherry was a drummer for Gen Sherman in his march from Atlanta to the sea (who knows?). Maternal relatives are from Gillespie. My mother was Edith Margaret Hutton Anderson and her parents were Charles and Lula (Fitzpatrick) Hutton. I did find a James B. Anderson who mustered out of the army in 1877 and returned to Tennessee. Coincidentally, Tennessee is where Mary Ramey Anderson's husband was from. Thanks for considering this inquiry. Edith Anderson 1606 E. 50th Place, 2A Chicago, IL 60615

Sharon, Re Owens Marriage, I emailed the S.S.Simon RC Church in Gillespie, and the Church came up trumps! I have received tonight from this kind person in their organization a Michele Levandoski, the Marriage Cert for Owen and Delia, performed on the 23/02/1914 in Gillespie, Delias maiden name was also GALLAGHER, something I would never have even imagined, the Birth Cert I had for their son James in 1915 actually listed both Delia's married and maiden name funnily, her first name was not actually Delia, she was baptized Bridget, wonder where Delia came from this Doc also gives her parents names, both father and mother with her maiden name, enabling me to continue my search in Ireland, although that may take some doing as Records are sparse, but its a start. Michele also added an Obituary for Delia from the Litchfield News-Herald, dated 15/05/1930, seems like she merited a column in the Newspaper. I now am very happy to have found out a great deal more of their background, I would still have liked to get in contact with any descendants of theirs, but that is asking too much. Again, Id like to thank you for your interest and the time you have spent on my behalf searching for this info, youve been great. All the best from rainy Scotland, Jim Hendry. -----Original Message----- From: ilmacoup-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:ilmacoup-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of sjlbuethner-sheminee@att.net Sent: 20 August 2009 01:36 To: ilmacoup@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [ILMACOUP] Marriage lookup WW II Draft Registration Card Owen Joseph Gallagher 307 W. IRAD wasn't able to find the deed for me, for Hopewell Church, which the records indicate was given by Daniel Huddleston, in 1852, for one acre of land. Is anyone online on this forum who is involved in the restoration of the Wheeler-Huddleston cemetery? I just received this query. Can anyone be of assistance? "Dear Mr. Ott: I am trying to find information on a Mr. Christian H. Haake who was married to a Freda (or Frida, or Frieda) Augusta Reifschlager. The two resided in Macoupin County for a long time. I only know this by way of an old obituary that I found from one of their children. I am looking for their final resting place so that I can go and pay my respects. If you have any information about either one I would appreciate it. I believe that Frida remarried a Mr. Kincaid. I am not sure if Christian died or not, in the 1880 census Freda is listed as widowed, though this might have been for sensabilities. Thank you for your assistance. I have been working on finding birth, death and burial dates and locations, family information, pictures and obituaries for each of the almost 1000 men who served in the 101^st Illinois Infantry, a Civil War unit assembled in Morgan County, Illinois. I now have the information that I have found on my web page at http://www.scattercreek.com/~normw <http://www.scattercreek.com/%7Enormw> My biggest problems were names. 1. Who was the wife? If a widow filed for pension, I could rely on the Ancestry early pension list for a name. If she died first, she was never listed and if there were minor children, the guardian was sometimes readable, but the child's name was never listed. 2. Many surnames were misspelled and/or I found a duplicate. So were some of the census. There are over 300 listings of John Brown in the Illinois listings. In the case of Morgan, Scott, Greene, and Macoupin, I had good cemetery information, although I was surprised how many did not have a military stone, therefore were unlikely to have military identification. If there was no unit, I still did not know if I had the right John Brown. However, I was able to locate well over half, and have some information on another 15 or 20 percent. I would greatly appreciate any help you can provide. I am especially interested in getting more cemetery info and obituaries. In addition, since there was such a large westward movement, any of that type of info you might have would be a big help. If you would like copies of any of the information, just download it. There is no charge, nor will there be one.. If you are part of a genealogy organization or library, feel free to copy the whole thing. If you would like to link to my web sit, please do. This data, however, may NOT be used in any kind of commercial activity. If you have questions, do not hesitate to ask either in response to this email or privately, using the address on the web site. My happiest moments of this exercise has been having someone mail me, thrilled because the found data or a location that they previously was not aware of. Please let me know if you believe I have wrong or questionable information. Enjoy! Norm Witherbee Kalama, WA
Possibly right. Doing the 1845 index, I was having a time deciding an L and S. The swishes were very close. I probably have more wrong. Marita and Jill found two. Would like to ring some necks if they had still been alive. Hope other people can correct me on more. Gloria At 11:08 AM 8/14/2009, you wrote: >One other possibility comes to mind. FYI, I just came across the name Sanora/Sonora in Macon County. So I think it is a valid name, though I had never heard it before.
