    2. These are the Dodsons listed (this is not "my" book but is one I own, it was compiled by Don Ford and published in 1988 by Heritage Books ... thought I should reaffirm that Mr. Ford did the research and compilation): Dodson, Clara May Stoskopf 1884-1925 Greenlawn Cemetery, located in Lyon Twp. Ella, 1890-1975 SBCC Ida May, wf of W. L. Dodson, March 1865 - 28 Nov 1948 Greenlawn Cemetery, located in Lyon Twp. James N. 1855- 1934 SBCC Joseph J. 1895-1977 SBCC Mary 1857 - 1925 SBCC W. L., 20 Nov 1858 - 18 March 1928 Greenlawn Cemetery, located in Lyon Twp. Winnie, 1883-1976 SBCC Please note: the key to the cemetery "SBCC" is not given; There is a BCC which is "Brush Creek Cemetery - located in Spring Valley Township NE4 S3 T34 R24." Also, SCC which is "Sherman City Cemetery - located in Sheridan Township SE/4 SE4 S13 R22. The 1920 Census lists James N. Dodson, age 64 & his wife Mary, age 62 and their children, Winnie age 36, Ella age 30, Joseph age 23, and Irene age 21 in the household. They were listed in Weir City, Cherokee County, Kansas. They didn't seem to have any connection to Illinois. Hope this helps. Linda R.F. Arnold California

    2. Joyce McKinnon: Sorry to say neither are listed in the book, but that doesn't mean they aren't buried somewhere in Cherokee County, Kansas. My suggestion is to check Jasper County, Missouri. These people went back and forth across the river. My Galena, KS people went to Joplin, Webb City and Carterville to shop and to Prosperity to visit cousins, and vise versa. Linda R.F. So, I would not assume just because a person is not listed in this book, they are not buried in somewhere in a Cherokee County, Kansas cemetery. My pleasure, Marti. Linda R.F. Arnold California

    3. Linda, I have been following the discussions on Kansas and decided to see if you have a Lorenzo D. Gilbert in your book. In the 1870 census he and his wife, Emiline, and family were living in Douglas Co., IL. In 1880 she and the children are back in Jasper Co., IL with her father, Jacob Diel. For about 10 years I have been unable to find out what happened to Lorenzo. This is just a shot in the dark but who knows. Also to anyone interested, some folks migrated north. My grandfather, Alfred Sparks, was a blacksmith in Chesterfield and moved to Flint, MI to find work about 1927-28. His family followed him there. Thanks, Pat
