I see no problem with your contacting him. Several years ago, he did some mild research on his Ruyle family, but I don't know just how much he has done. Missi I think Judy's married name was Coyne, but someone told me that they thought she died a few years ago. I was under the impression that Judy' maiden name was Ruyle and that Alfred was her father from what I recall in her correspondence about 10 or so years ago. I received this information in the year 2000. Here are a few of the e-mails that it was address to at that time. I don't know if any of them are still active. Ed Ruyle, Jr. [email protected]; Achey, Leah. [email protected]; Barnes, Arlyda, [email protected]; Beetel, Donna. [email protected]; and Brown, Jim & Donna. [email protected] I am somewhat related to John Ruyle who may know something about the reunion. He is a son of my Aunt's stepdaughter. He does have e-mail. Tell him Ilene gave you his e-mail address. It is: [email protected] He lives in Alton, IL, so he is in the area where the Ruyle family was from. I hope you will get the information you are seeking. Ilene Jones I received the info below, from a descendant of Floyd... Floyd was born January 9, 1892, as you noted. He married my grandmother, Agnes Marie Dowd, on April 16, 1913, at Saint Edward's Catholic Church in Saint Louis, Missouri. Agnes and Floyd's marriage license is still in the Saint Louis City Archives. Floyd died February, 1966, and was buried March 2, 1966, in Calvary Cemetery in Saint Louis, in Section 30, Lot 213, with his wife, Agnes, and his mother, Agnes (Peet) Walker, who died in August,1968. (Agnes Peet Ruyle married "Grandpa Walker" long after her husband John died. We heard that her husband John Ruyle died of appendicitis, despite an operation on the kitchen table! After that, Agnes moved to Saint Louis with her sons to work.) Agnes Marie Dowd was born October 4, 1893, in Saint Louis. Her father was Thomas F. Dowd, born September 8, 1867-in Boston, we think. Thomas died March 9, 1939. Her mother was Mary Elizabeth Cassin, born August 17, 1868. We think Mary Elizabeth was born in Saint Louis of Irish parents. Mary Elizabeth died January 18, 1917. Thomas never remarried. Thomas and Mary had five girls, including my grandmother. Most are buried with them in the Dowd family plot at Calvary Cemetery in Saint Louis, Section 21, Lot 1865. Floyd and Agnes had seven children. Agnes, Delores, Blanche, Jim and John are still around! Agnes Ruyle, born June 25, 1914 Delores Ruyle Gittemeier, born October 5, 1915, married Maurice Gittemeier. Robert A. Ruyle, born September 18, 1917, married Delores Delaney (who died in 1985), died 1986. Floyd J. Ruyle, born 1920, died March 16, 1921 Blanche Ruyle Peterson, born September 23, 1921 James Leo Ruyle, born June 7, 1924, married Marjorie Ann Newell (born November 25, 1928, died March 28, 1990) on June 25, 1952. John T. Ruyle, born March 28, 1926, married Therese, but I don't recall her maiden name at the moment. They are both still around, doing pretty well. James Leo Ruyle is my father. I'm not sure how much you want to put into your gedcom about the people who are still around, but it may be useful to you, eventually. I have lots of cousins, brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews, and a son (in Ireland, currently). All are descendents of Floyd Albert Ruyle. Can you use these names and their dates, too? I noticed that you do have "private" noted beside some of the names. Is that for the people who are still around? I am still investigating. Slowly but surely, I am building up quite a bit of information! And I will keep you posted! Please let me know if you have any questions! And thank you for all your help in setting up this great database! Hi, I just do not like to put stuff online as most of it gets used incorrectly. I have worked on the Arnold family for many years. I was just working on the very family you requested! My name is Marilyn Galvan and I live in Girard, IL. If you want to call me I can talk to you easier than emailing all that I have done to date. Your Susannah Arnold was the daughter of William Arnold and Eleanor Hill. At least she is the one I am pretty sure is the mother. I cannot find a document to prove this as yet, but I do have tons of other information on the family. Susannah had a sister born about two years later and then the mother died and the dad remarried Lucy Cannaday on June 18, 1833. Please contact me and I can relate some of the rest of the story. Also William was the brother of John Record Arnold according to what I have found. Missi, Just so I can keep it straight I will respond next in the body of your email below with a different color. In a message dated 03/08/2007 9:44:54 A.M. Yes I have that and Thomas is indeed his son from his first marriage. Also in Christian Co there is a Mary Arnold 14 living with Wm. & Naomi Fleming ages 65 and 60 resp. sorry I don't know what this is the abbreviation for? Mary is listed as their niece. Is Naomi an Arnold? since I have just discovered that Hopson and Avery may be Susannah's parents I don't have any idea who her siblings are yet. If she was 60 in 1880 dob is 1820... Susanna 1822. It is possible that one of Susanna's relatives took over care of Mary, likely if not with Ashford. I looked up her Sharp and Dial siblings maybe they took her in, nothing concrete there. I too tried that and didn't find her. John W. Sharp and Susana were living with Wm Arnold in 1850 Macoupin. Wm is old enough to be her father but also to be her brother. I did have info on Wm and John Record Arnold have parents as Hopson and Avie (Nix) Arnold. One person a very long time ago told me that they thought Hugh Arnold and a ? Rieyle were Susannah's parents. I too found the William as a possible but am thinking he is most likely a brother. I probably havent helped much.... hopefully something. Since I am related to the Sharp's I wanted to make sure that my info was correct... so thank you. I have some data on the Sharp's as I was hoping to find Mary with them but haven't had any luck.
