Look at all of them and you will see how Illinois was divided and when. It is quite interesting. To find where all of my ancestors were back through the years, I printed a map of each. Put a pin prick on the Present day map, lined them up and started backwards. Results: My ancestors started out in Madison County, then Shelby, then Macon and then DeWitt without ever moving!!!!!!
